General Questions

Do I need to be on the Internet to run Moodagent?

The Moodagent app needs Internet access for syncing your library. Once that is completed you can enjoy the app without connecting to the Internet. Syncing only occurs when you first install Moodagent or when you add new songs to your library.

Is there a desktop version of the Moodagent app?

Not at the present time. We are working on a desktop version. Let us know if you’d like to be on the advance notification list for updates.

Is the information on my phone safe when connecting to your servers?

Yes, it is safe with us. See our licensing agreement.

Will Moodagent compress my music library, making the quality of my music super bad?

No. Moodagent is all about improving your music experience and we do that without impacting the quality of your music.

Why does a song not profile?

The most common reasons are:? (1) The song is too short — 30 seconds or less? (2) The song is DRM protected. Try profiling the song every few weeks, as someone else may profile a non-DRM version of the same song.

Can I profile my own music made in, for example, Garage Band or Pro Tools?

Yes, but only with the desktop Moodagent Profiler. Make sure you include artist and title information on every song before running the Profiler.

Why doesn’t Moodagent sync all my songs?

If Moodagent does not know a song, it will not be synced. But don’t worry, we know more than 25 million songs, and still counting. To teach Moodagent software to create profiles for your unknown songs, you can download the Moodagent Profiler for your desktop PC or MAC. If you are a PC user, please [...]

When Moodagent goes to work, it creates information profiles on music tracks that can then be clustered and compared in any number of ways (e.g. by mood, genre, instrument, beat, sound, decade, etc). So every track has [...]
